The Library

Where a session starts: projects, search, a new manuscript, and the Vault tile.

The Library is the first surface inside the window. It is where a session starts. There is no separate splash, and there is no streak.

Greeting & Last Session

The date sits in italic above the title Pick up where you left off. Under that, one factual line if a previous session exists, such as Yesterday · 812 words on Harbor Contracts.

The launch surface uses the same panel color as the Library, #f1ecdf, while the local library opens. It does not wait on the network.

Project Cards

Projects sit in a grid. Each card carries a type kicker, the branch, evidence counts, and when it was last edited. A colored edge distinguishes reporting, fiction, and essay work.

Open a card to enter the workspace. From the card menu you can rename, duplicate, or archive. Archiving keeps the manuscripts, sources, evidence, and history. Restore brings the project back from Archived.

Open
Enters the project on its last branch.
Rename
Changes the project title.
Duplicate
A second project with its own history from here.
Archive
Leaves the active grid. Nothing in the history is deleted.

New Project & the Vault Tile

The dashed New tile creates a project (⌘⇧N). The dark Vault tile is the locked store for this Mac. It is not a project, and its contents are not in the search index.

The Library field filters project titles. ⌘K is Quick Open across drafts, transcripts, canvas cards, and evidence text once you are in the work. Vault plaintext is in neither index.
