SixTwelve Studio · an independent app studio

Tools for
paying attention.

SixTwelve is a small studio, and together we make software for the whole of your day. Film-spirited cameras for the iPhone. Notebooks and training partners that live on your wrist. Writing rooms, darkrooms and working tools for the Mac, the iPad and the Linux desktop. Apps for Google Pixel, and games for iPhone and the little yellow Playdate. We build each one around a single idea, and each one asks you to slow down and notice what is in front of you.

The cameras

Your phone holds forty thousand photographs. These cameras are for the ones you will want to keep.

01 The idea

Each app begins with a single feeling.

The weight of a film camera with twelve frames left. The hush of a blank page on a Sunday morning. The satisfaction of a messy PDF finally put in order. Every SixTwelve app starts from one of those small moments, and we build it to give that moment back to you.

02 The shelf

Cameras, desks, darkrooms, and a few games.

On the iPhone, Spool, Basic, Half and SixtyFive shoot the way film did. On the Apple Watch, Soma trains with you, Talus catches a passing thought and jots keeps the shopping list on your wrist. On the Mac and iPad, Verso and roono are rooms for writing, Linen keeps plain text and code with zero save prompts, Folio settles the paperwork, Lumen and CaptureMood develop your photographs and Mocksyy sketches the next app, and Quire Desk keeps every Git repository in one window. Linux has Verso, Marlin Developer's Bench, Engage, Specimen and Quire Desk. Google Pixel is getting jots. For the evenings there is Embertail, Fold, and Axis on the Playdate, and for children there is Pip Tutor, in development for iOS and iPadOS.

03 The Workbench Loop

Shaped through your daily hands.

Software should not be built in isolation. When you encounter friction, discover an awkward step, or envision a missing capability, your field note goes straight to the creator. We review observations daily and roll out updates continuously.

The Bench, a weekly letter

Every Tuesday, a short letter from the studio: one app worth a closer look, one small idea for using it well, and a glimpse of what is being made next.

Custom software built with the same craft and restraint.

SixTwelve is an independent software studio. We build film-spirited cameras for iPhone, quiet tools for Mac and Linux, and companions for Apple Watch, each shaped around a single clear idea. Alongside our own catalog, we accept select commissions to design and build bespoke native applications for teams and founders who require that same tactile precision, speed, and restraint.
