Settings is a 760×520 window with six panes. Direct builds include Agents & AI and License. The writing surface, the Vault, and publishing destinations are configured here. The manuscript is not.

The Six Panes
The left rail is General, Editor & fonts, Agents & AI, Vault & security, Publishing, and License. The footer of that rail reads roono · local-first.
- General
- Sync, privacy, and support.
- Editor & fonts
- The writing surface: face, Focus Reset, language behavior.
- Agents & AI
- Detected official CLIs, tested state, and Open terminal. Login happens in the provider's own session.
- Vault & security
- Device-only encryption and what recovery can and cannot restore.
- Publishing
- Destinations used only after the fact-check gate passes.
- License
- The Direct license, recovery, and updates. There is no App Store card in this release.
Editor & Fonts
Choose the face for the manuscript. Focus Reset, the brief Night pause on entering Focus, is off until you enable it. Language behavior for spelling, dictionary, and Writing Tools is configured here and still uses Apple's components.
Agents & AI
Each detected CLI row shows the executable, version, a tested-state pill, the official install or help action, and Open terminal. Roono does not store the provider token.
Separate API billing is an explicit alternative. A failed subscription session does not silently switch to an API key.
License, Publishing & Vault
License holds the Direct key for this Mac. Publishing lists CMS destinations. Those destinations stay closed while the fact-check gate is shut.
Vault & security restates the structural rule: the key is in the Secure Enclave, unlock is Touch ID, and Vault items are absent from Agent, Spotlight, and ordinary export unless you decrypt one item for that export.
