Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of all applications, software instruments, digital goods, and services published by SixTwelve Studio. By downloading, purchasing, installing, or using our software, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Software License & Scope of Rights
SixTwelve Studio grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and execute our applications on compatible devices that you own or control.
Store Entitlements: Applications distributed via the Apple App Store are licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) and applicable App Store Terms of Service, supplemented by these terms. Applications distributed via Panic Playdate are governed by Panic's sideloading and catalog policies.
Direct Licensing: Software sold directly by SixTwelve Studio (such as roono, Verso, CaptureMood, and Marlin) is licensed directly. A direct purchase entitles you to run the software on your personal machines according to the license tier issued at checkout.
Restrictions: Except as explicitly permitted by applicable law, you may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, extract source code, modify, rent, lease, loan, sell, distribute, or create derivative works based on our software or brand assets.
Purchases, Licensing Tiers & Refunds
Standalone Purchase Model: Our software is sold as standalone, single-purchase software. All features listed for a given version are unlocked upon purchase without recurring subscription requirements.
App Store Transactions: Payment processing, order fulfillment, family sharing entitlements, and refund requests for App Store purchases are managed directly by Apple. SixTwelve Studio does not handle or store credit card details from App Store sales. To request a refund from Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Direct Sales (Stripe): Direct transactions for roono are processed securely through Stripe. License keys are emailed immediately upon successful payment verification. License keys can be recovered at any time via our License Recovery portal. Refund inquiries for direct purchases should be submitted to hello@sixtwelve.studio within 14 days of purchase.
User Content & Intellectual Property
Your Data Belongs to You: You retain complete, unrestricted ownership of all photographs, video recordings, audio tracks, written drafts, markdown files, log analyses, code repositories, UI wireframes, and design packages created with our tools.
Local Storage by Default: Our instruments write documents and media directly to your local file system, photo library, or personal iCloud Drive. SixTwelve Studio claims zero rights, licenses, or title to the files you create.
Studio Intellectual Property: All software code, graphical user interfaces, visual design systems, icons, sound design, and typography layouts remain the exclusive intellectual property of SixTwelve Studio and raastey.
Product-Specific Terms
Camera Instruments (basic, half, sixtyfive, sixtyfive motion, Spool, The Camera Collection)
You own all raw frames, developed rolls, contact sheets, and exposure parameters. Captures are processed on-device and stored locally.
Dispatch Postcard
You own all video clips and cards. If you choose to publish a card to your public Wall or Explore feed, you grant SixTwelve Studio a non-exclusive license to host and deliver that post strictly to operate the sharing feature. This license terminates immediately upon post deletion.
Writing Tools (roono, Talus Notes, Verso Markdown)
All notes, document vaults, moments, and markdown files remain strictly on your local disk or personal iCloud account. In roono, BYO AI integrations communicate solely with your chosen endpoints.
Photo & Design Tools (Lumen Darkroom, ArtBench, CaptureMood, Mocksyy, Specimen)
Nondestructive edit sidecars, layer documents (.lumen, .vellum), vector assets, and exported code packages remain 100% under your ownership and local control. Specimen is distributed freely under open-source terms.
Text & Engineering Tools (Marlin, Engage)
Pipeline recipes, stream configurations, parsed log buffers, and terminal sessions execute in memory and remain your exclusive property. Engage is distributed freely under open-source terms.
Education & Games (pip, axis, embertail, fold, Kizuna)
Learning records and game saves remain stored locally on your device hardware without remote dependencies.
Acceptable Use & Community Standards
When utilizing public sharing features (such as Dispatch Explore or Wall publishing), you agree not to submit, upload, or transmit content that:
- Infringes upon any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Contains abusive, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or unlawful material.
- Attempts to disrupt, compromise, or overload studio infrastructure or private CloudKit records.
Public content violating these standards is subject to immediate removal, and repeat offenders may have public sharing privileges revoked. See our Community Guidelines for complete policies.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall SixTwelve Studio, raastey, or their founders and contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, photos, notes, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of our software.
Governing Law, Modifications & Contact
Modifications: We reserve the right to revise these Terms of Use at any time. When updates occur, the effective date at the top of this document will be updated. Continued use of our software following changes constitutes acceptance.
