The Project Navigator is one lens on the Project Map: groups, manuscript sections, notes, sources, and entities in a single hierarchy.
The Navigator Tree
Show or hide the navigator with ⌘⌥1. Inbox, manuscript groups, research assets, and entities are views of the same project structure, not separate stores.
Reorder sections by dragging them, or move the selection with ⌘⌥↑ and ⌘⌥↓. Structure changes are append-only and do not rewrite prose history.
Inbox & Quick Capture
Quick Capture (⌘⇧↩) drops a note, clip, or fragment into the Inbox before you decide where it belongs. Nothing in the Inbox enters the manuscript until you place it.
Manuscript Groups & Sections
Groups hold chapters, scenes, and sections. Selecting a group opens its descendants as one continuous editable flow, so you can revise across scene breaks without opening separate files.
Entities & Story Bible
People, sources, places, and organizations live as entities with backlinks into the manuscript. ⌘⌥R opens the selected entity in the reference pane. Entity text is supporting material; it does not silently become prose.
