Verso accessibility
Verso is a plain Markdown editor for folders of files. Writing, reading, and finding your way around a document work with VoiceOver, Voice Control, and the largest text sizes on iPhone and iPad, and with VoiceOver on the Mac.

Common tasks we test
A feature is marked supported only when all of these work with it on that device.
- Opening a folder from Files or iCloud Drive, or starting a new document
- Browsing The Stack on iPhone and the sidebar on iPad and Mac
- Writing and editing Markdown with the formatting bar and Momentum
- Switching between Edit and Read and following links in the reading view
- Finding text in a document and opening any document with Quick Open
- Reading the outline and the document statistics
- Renaming, pinning, duplicating, and moving a document to the Trash
- Changing theme, accent, and reading options in Settings
- Saving shared text with the share extension, and the Home Screen widgets
How it works
VoiceOver and Voice Control
Every control is named as it appears on screen, so Voice Control users can say what they see. Documents in The Stack and the sidebar offer Peek, Pin, Rename, Duplicate, and Move to Trash as actions, so nothing depends on a swipe or a long press. The editor is a standard text view, so VoiceOver reads the text, the selection, and the insertion point.
Larger Text
The interface, the editor, and the reading view all follow the system text size up to the largest accessibility sizes. The reading view rewraps instead of zooming, statistics drop to one column, sheets open full height, and the status bar scrolls rather than cutting words short.
Contrast and themes
Secondary text, syntax colors, and links reach at least 4.5:1 on every surface in light and dark. Whatever accent you pick, Verso adjusts its lightness, never its hue, until it meets the same ratio.
Motion
With Reduce Motion on, every spring, slide, and scale is turned off, and the zoom into a document becomes a plain transition.
