MASKS and PRORAW are two panes on the Develop row. MASKS builds a local grade. PRORAW opens only for an Apple ProRAW DNG, and until then the inspector reads PRORAW ENGINE STANDBY.
Masks
The loupe tools are SUB, SKY, BG, SKN, BRS, GRD, RAD, and CLR. The first four ask Vision for a segmentation. Brush, gradient, and radial are drawn on the photograph. CLR removes the selected mask. The inspector lists each mask with its exposure, and the footer prints VISION SEGMENTATION and the time that mask took.
- SUB / SKY / BG / SKN
- Subject, sky, background, and skin.
- BRS / GRD / RAD
- Brush, gradient, and radial. Drag on the loupe to place them.
- CLR
- Removes the selected mask.
- Adjustments
- Exposure, Clarity, Feather, and Opacity. An embedded ProRAW matte also shows Warmth, Saturation, and Smoothing under EMBEDDED MATTE COLOR.
Apple ProRAW
Open an Apple ProRAW DNG. Otherwise the pane says SELECT AN APPLE PRORAW DNG. With a file open, the loupe note is APPLE CORE IMAGE RAW, 16-BIT FLOAT, EDR. Reset ProRAW Engine sits at the bottom of the inspector.
- Computational look
- Natural, Balanced, and Apple, plus the slider Natural ↔ Apple. Local tone map, Global tone curve, and Computational shadows follow.
- Scene linear grade
- Scene exposure, Scene saturation, and Red, Green, and Blue response. The pane says this is applied in linear light before Apple's tone rendering.
- Highlight headroom
- EDR, Baseline exposure, RAW exposure, Native contrast, Shadow bias, and Highlight recovery when the file supports it.
- Native detail
- Detail, Sharpness, Luminance noise, Color noise, and Moiré, each only when that file supports it.
- Optical pipeline
- Apple lens correction, when supported, and Gamut mapping.
- Decoder consistency
- PROCESS VERSION. System latest, or a pinned Apple RAW version.
HDR Gain Map
HDR GAIN MAP offers Visualize headroom when a map is embedded, and NOT EMBEDDED when it is not. The loupe then reads ISO 21496 HDR GAIN MAP, with the badge HEADROOM VIEW, EDITS NOT SHOWN. Show developed returns to the grade.
- Embedded semantic mattes
- Skin, Hair, Teeth, Sky, Glasses, and Portrait depth. Each row is ADD MASK or NOT EMBEDDED. ADD MASK sends that matte to the MASKS pane.
- Capture record
- Native pixels, capture type, lens, decoder, and software.
